Part 1
The first session of the test drive is for your teams. We’re either presenting basic agile overview information (for greenfield agile adoptions) or we’re presenting mature patterns (for experienced teams who want to up their game). In either case, you’ll want to invite most everyone to this session, or as many as your room can handle. This may be developers, testers, business analysts, architects, UX designers, project managers, and managers. The more the better as agile adoption is a true team endeavor.
This is our chance for your teams to get to know us, and us, your teams. If you ever want us to help with a coaching/training engagement, this initial introduction is an effective means to understand your organization and team cultures.
Part 2
The second session of the test drive is for your leaders. This is an exciting opportunity for your leadership team–managers, directors, VP’s, and C-level–to discuss a wide variety of agile adoption and organizational transformation topics. It’s a pro-bono coaching session and we hold nothing back in our coaching.
Discussions often surround topics like:
- Strengths & weaknesses of agile methods/approaches and selection criteria
- Strategies for adopting agile methods, both for technology and the entire organization
- Metrics–how do you measure agile success and what are typical benchmarks
- How to improve teams struggling with agile, how to get better, and situational coaching
- How to model/change the organization to become more agile, as in, moving from doing agile to being agile, and what are the trade-offs?
- What leadership adjustments are needed to effectively lead an agile organization
It’s also a chance to get to know each other, from our intentions and skills to our specific style of coaching. We only ask a good sampling of your senior leadership team attend this session, as appropriate and time available.
