- How much experience does the coach have? Is it internal vs. external coaching? What about variety in his coaching? Explore what typical coaching engagements look like and how the coach enters an organization? And when does he know it’s time to exit?
- How much method breadth does the coach have within her coaching? Does she apply cross aspects of one method to others? Ask for a couple examples of how.
- It’s one thing to be well-read. It’s another to be well-experienced. Explore the latter. Ask about the coach’s successes AND his failures as a coach. What determines success? Or failure?
- Ask the coach if she has ever turned away clients. And if so, what are the general reasons for this decision? You’re looking for the coach’s selection criteria and hot buttons for agile coaching success.
